The National Kunming High-Level Biosafety Primate Experiment Center is equipped with biosafety level 3 and 4 laboratories. It primarily focuses on establishing models of severe infectious diseases in primates, studying the pathogenesis, and researching drugs and vaccines. The center aims to address major and fundamental issues in related fields. The construction includes 15 buildings such as administrative offices, comprehensive laboratory buildings, and quarantine animal laboratories, with a total construction area of approximately 13,400 square meters. The project involves civil engineering and purification decoration systems, industrial pipelines (pneumatic), water supply and drainage, ventilation, electrical lighting, safety facilities, IT infrastructure, and comprehensive control systems.
